Is there any better comfort food than great chocolate chip cookies? Last week at school had my head spinning, and by the time I had made my 4 different train (metro, train, train) connections back home to Belgium I was in need of a perfectly warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. Typically this would mean nothing more than slicing off a piece of cookie dough stored in my freezer but since I hadn’t baked cookies since arriving in March I thought I would mix up a batch to share with you.

I have to be honest. Anything that is marketed as ‘non-fat’ makes me suspicious. So its fair to wonder how I even tried this recipe in the first place. Well, if it had come from anywhere but David Lebovitz’s blog I wouldn’t have. His cookbooks are amongst my favourite and his blog has become my go-to guide for navigating my upcoming move to Paris (and my continuously growing list of restaurants to try!). He has yet to lead me astray so, despite my feelings towards non-fat food, I tried his recipe for ginger cookies. This is the only recipe I will use from now on! – you can find the recipe for David Lebovitz’s Nonfat Ginger Cookies here on his blog.
